A hand-built sound system with an operator, for receptions, openings and company parties. It fits in a corner of the room, it sounds full without being loud, and it is the first thing your guests see when they walk in.
What is a sound system?
A sound system is a set of speakers built by hand: a wall of wooden cabinets, each one made for a single part of the music. Bass at the bottom, then the kick, the mids, and the highs on top.
The tradition comes from Jamaica, where music was played in the street for anyone who wanted to listen. The idea has never changed: let the record sound the way it was made.
An ordinary PA is built to be loud. A sound system is built to sound full. You hear the difference, and you feel it too.
What it does for your event
Full, not loud
The music sounds warm and full, even with the volume down low. Your guests keep talking and still hear every record.
Something to look at
A wooden stack that stands taller than most of your guests does not get tucked away in a corner. People come over, ask what it is and take a photo of it.
Nothing for you to do
We deliver, set up, run it all evening and take it down again. There is always someone on site who knows the system.
You choose the volume. We measure it.
Every venue has a sound level it is allowed to reach. We work within it. This system already sounds full below 85 dB(A), the lowest level in the Flemish rules. We measure all evening with a decibel meter, so you and the venue know where we stand.
Offer and price
Most events go for the compact set-up: two bass cabinets with everything stacked on top, right for a room of up to 100 guests. You choose whether you want the sound only, or the music as well.

Transport within the Antwerp area is included. Beyond that we charge for travel.
Bigger party? The full stack
For a large hall, a festival or an outdoor party of up to 200 guests we build the whole thing: four bass cabinets side by side, 4 metres wide, for a space that needs filling.
With operator from € 1,150. With operator and DJ from € 1,550. Per evening, excl. VAT.

Dubwave is a sound system based in Antwerp. We cut, glued and finished every cabinet ourselves, and we have been playing on it for years at our own nights and outdoors.
So whoever comes to set up the system at your event knows it down to the last screw.

A power circuit to ourselves, with nothing else plugged in. So no fridge on the same line.
A flat floor, 2 metres wide for the compact stack or 4 metres for the full stack
